Reading: Fluency
Enhancing Fluency Across All Instructional Settings and Contexts K-6
Fluency is the ultimate goal of any meaningful reading experience, but it has been inaccurately promoted as a separate component of effective reading instruction. Fluency must be viewed through a wider instructional lens rather than emphasized with an end goal of faster reading. Fluent reading is about far more than speed, with accurate and expressive reading even more important aspects of proficient and skilled reading. You will learn a smorgasbord of high-impact, easy-to-implement strategies that will richly embed fluency across the entire day. Develop a greater understanding of what fluency looks like and sounds like in an elementary classroom using the critical principles of effective fluency instruction.
